Human Activities
The main reason behind the existing climate change trend is the human growth of the Greenhouse Effect.
Major Contributors
- Fossil Fuels: The use of coal, oil, and gas as a source of energy and transportation they cause the highest emissions.
- Deforestation: CO2 is absorbed by trees, and thus their cutting down emits it back into the atmosphere, and decreases the amount of CO2 that the Earth can absorb in the future.
- Agriculture: Cows and sheep generate methane which is a powerful green house gas.
The Industrial Revolution
Since the beginning of the Industrial Revolution, the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere has increased by over 45% due to human activities.
